Sziget Festival

Sziget Festival is the largest cultural and open-air rock and pop gathering in Europe since 1992 in every August. Just some examples among the actors who performed on the festivel: Korn, Morcheeba, Faithless, Basement Jaxx, Nick Cave, Franz Ferdinand.

The green Óbuda Island is the place where you can step out from the ordinary days: one week crazy partying, concerts, entertainent, culure and a very friendly crowd. In the temporaly festivalcity you can find post office, bank, pubs, restaurants, shops and anything(!) you want.

The stages are categorised and beside the trendy bands you can find hard rock, world music, electric dance music, alternative style, blues and jazz easily and at very high quality.

Theatre, dance performances, literature presentations, classic music and all kind of cultural entertainment is also on the Sziget Festivals palette.

Helping the youth ont he field of mental and physical health is an important mission of the organisers so they provide many sports programs and presence of civil organisations.

The festival has own camping places where you can sleep in your own tent or find cheap hostel accomodation close to Sziget Festival also.
